Opposition's demand of CBI inquiry irrelevant: Madhu Koda
Ranchi, Dec 19 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today criticised the BJP-led opposition in the Assembly for demanding CBI inquiry in the death of BIT student Ahishek Mishra.
He said the opposition was purposely giving the matter a 'political colour' as Railway minister Lalu Prasad's daughter was also present in the tragic occurance.
Talking to UNI, Mr Koda said the government would not seek a CBI inquiry into the matter as the death was just an accident.
He said Abhishek's friends who were with him at the time of accident had informed the police and then FIR was registered, adding Ragini, daughter of Mr Prasad, had given the information.
Mr Koda said the postmortem report also mentioned that the death was due to drowning.
Coming down heavily on the opposition, he said instead of participating in debates, a rigid attitude by the opposition parties showed their intension towards the issue.
The house proceeding was halted by the opposition members after the question hour.
Abhishek Mishra was a seventh semester student at BIT and went for picnic along with his friends including Ragini, on December 8 and drowned in Dassam falls.
Abhishek's family members had demanded a CBI inquiry into the death.
