Opposition stalls Assembly demanding CBI inquiry
Ranchi, Dec 19 (UNI) Jharkhand Assembly today witnessed uproarious scenes when the opposition BJP demanded CBI probe into the death of Birla Institute Technology student Abhishek Mishra.
Speaker Alamgir Alam was compelled to adjourn the House thrice before launch.
Only the question hour was conducted in the first half.
BJP legislators, led by Raghubar Das and JD(U)'s Radhakrishna Kishore, came before the Speaker's chair and reiterated their demand.
The opposition also protested and shouted anti-government slogans when Chief Minister Madhu Koda initiated his speech in this regard.
The Speaker adjourned the House tommorrow after the opposition MLAs sat before the Speaker's chair after lunch.
Abhishek, a seventh semester student at BIT, went for picnic along with his friends including Ragini, daughter of railway minister Lalu Prasad on December 8 , to Dassam falls, about 55 kms far from the state capital, where he was drowned.
