Oppn leaders submit memorandum to Governor
Hyderabad, Dec 19 (UNI) Leaders of all the Opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh, including the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), today submitted a memorandum to Governor Rameshwar Thakur demanding action against Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for alleged violation of Land Reforms Act.
Floor Leaders N Chandrababu Naidu (TDP), Nomula Narasimhaiah (CPI-M), Kishan Reddy (BJP) and Vijaya Rama Rao (TRS) marched to the Raj Bhavan from the Assembly after they were suspended for the Question Hour for disrupting House proceedings and submitted the memorandum to Mr Thakur's secretary as the Governor was not in station.
The TDP urged the Governor to take appropriate action against Dr Reddy who had 'admitted' violating the law.
It said the Chief Minister was 'unfit' to hold any constitutional office and requested the Governor to take action to protect the Constitution.
The BJP and CPI (M) leaders also urged the Governor to take action and demanded Dr Reddy's resignation.
