No political party could use me: Baba Ramdev

Bhopal, Dec 19 (UNI) Asserting that no political party could use his popularity for accomplishing its selfish means, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev said yoga and spirituality was his only motive.

Baba Ramdev, who was here to meet Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in connection with opening up of Patanjali Yoga Kendra, told UNI here that his ultimate goal was to treat mind and body of people through yoga training.

''Political leaders contact me for receiving information on getting rid of diseases through yoga training,'' he said, adding that his contacts with political leaders and politics was confined to this.

On whether his popularity and saffron dress was being exploited by political parties, Baba Ramdev stressed that though he wore saffron clothes, he had not been saffronised.

On whether he taught some 'asanas' to political leaders and government officials for abstaining from corruption, he said no yoga training could be complete without purifying body and mind.

The Yoga Guru said a person, who purified his mind through yoga, would refrain from corruption.

Regarding a notice from the Union Health Ministry to him to stop making claims that yoga could cure diseases, he wondered what he should say to inspire people to take up yoga.

''It's a strange puzzle before me,'' he noted.
