Modi urges officials to cultivate leadership qualities

Bhuj, Dec 19 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today called on each official to exhibit leadership qualities and cultivate an optimistic outlook instead of fault-finding.

Addressing a 'chintan shibir' here, he said that in order to make the run-up to the golden jubilee celebration of the state's formation, which falls in 2010, memorable, the year 2007 would be treated as ''nirmal Gujarat'', which would lay stress on sanitation.

If this government should be recognised for its good governance and pro-people and pro-active role, there needs to be a change in work culture of government employees. At district levels each official should play the role of a team leader, he said.

Earlier, district collector Dhananjay Dwivedi said that in the shibir organised on December 16 and 17, about 87 officials had participated.

Those present on the occasion were Social Justice and Empowerment Ramanlal Vora, secretary incharge of the district PV Trivedi, District Development Officer Praful Harsh and other senior officials.
