K'taka Govt announces MSP for ragi, paddy, maize, jowar

Bangalore, Dec 19 (UNI) The Karnataka Government today announced minimum support price (MSP) for procuring Ragi, Paddy, Jowar and Maize yield following the crash in the prices this Kharif season.

Talking to reporters here, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Govind Karjol said the Government had instructed the officials to procure the crops to protect the interests of farmers. The crops would be procured from the places recommended by the Task Force Committees in their respective districts, he added.

The Minister said the MSP for Ragi, Paddy (common variety), Paddy (A grade), Jowar (hybrid), Jowar (Maldandi) and Maize per quintal were Rs 540, Rs 620, Rs 650, Rs 540, Rs 550 and Rs 540 respectively.
