Jammu court rejects police objection in Anara Gupta case

Jammu, Dec 19 (UNI) A Jammu and Kashmir court today rejected the state police plea to cancel the bail of former Miss-Jammu Anara Gupta in a pornography case.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, Sanjay Dhar, during hearing today rejected the plea filed by Chairman Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police constituted for re-investigation.

The court observed that Anara was fully cooperating with the SIT and with permission from the court she can move anywhere for her personal work.

Chief Prosecuting Officer Maroof Ahmed Manhas, appearing for SIT, sought cancellation of Anara's bail on the various ground that she was violating the condition of bail but the court rejected his arguments.

At same time the court accepted the request filed by Anara Gupta that any investigation or recording of her statement in the porn-CD case should be at her home not in a police station or any police office with prior notice.
