HC directs constitution of High School and Intermediate Board

Allahabad, Dec 19 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to constitute a High School and Intermediate Board, as required under Section 3 of the UP Intermediate Education Act 1921, within a period of three months.

Passing this direction, the court also observed that the board has not been constituted since 1984. Fixing January 22, the next date of hearing, Justice S N Srivastava further directed the constitution of all the Sub-committees of the Board including, the Recognition Committee.

The order was passed on a writ petition of Bahuri Alp Sankhyak Balika Inter College Taruvanava of Kushi Nagar district. The petitioner had moved to the court alleging that their application for grant of recognition as a minority institution was still pending under section 9 (4) of the UP Intermediate Education Act.
