Haryana adds 8.52 lakh tonne rice to Central pool

Chandigarh, Dec 19 (UNI) The Haryana government has contributed 8.52 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of rice to the Central pool so far.

Of this, 5.65 lakh MTs has been delivered by the six government procuring agencies while millers have contributed 2.87 lakh MTs of rice in the Central pool, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said today.

Hafed had contributed 2.39 lakh MTs of rice followed by Food and Supplies Department, with a contribution of 1.80 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 63,000 MTs, Confed 50,000 MTs, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 26,000 MTs and FCI 7,060 MTs of rice.

The Kurukshetra district got first position by delivering 1.96 MTs of rice to the Central pool followed by district Karnal with 1.52 lakh MTs, Kaithal 1.34 lakh MTs, Fatehabad 92,234 MTs, Ambala 97,481 MTs, Yamunanagar 56,212 MTs, Sirsa 31,749 MTs, Faridabad 32,649 MTs, Jind 25,095 MTs, Panchkula 13,056 MTs, Sonepat 4,682 MTs, Hisar 4,057 and Mewat 890 MTs.
