'Gyanvani' channel launched in Nagpur
Nagpur, Dec 19 (UNI) The Nagpur station of 'Gyanvani,' the educational FM radio channel of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), was launched here this evening.
IGNOU has launched the station jointly with Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, said Assistant Station Manager Baban Nakhle.
Nagpur is the channel's 24th station in the country, and will broadcast programmes at 107.8 MHz, Mr Nakhle said.
Each Gyanvani station, with the range of about 70 kilometres, broadcast programmes from various ministries of the government, educational institutions and NGOs, he said.
There were plans to expand Gyanvani's network to 40 stations, with those at Pune and Aurangabad expected to be on air soon, he said.
