Former minister gets anticipatory bail

Patna, Dec 19(UNI) District and sessions judge of Patna Mandhata Singh today granted anticipatory bail to Former Bihar minister and senior RJD leader Jagdanand Singh in connection with the case of irregularities committed in execution of Durgawati water reservoir project.

The judge in his order said that former water resources minister Mr Singh shall be released on bail in the event of his surrender before the lower court on furnishing a bail bond of Rs.25,000 with two surities of the like amount.

Earlier forest officer of Patna circle cum Chief Conservator A K Sinha had filed a case in this connection in the court of Chief judicial Magistrate Sushma Sinha under various sections of Indian Forest Act 1927, Wild Life Protection Act 1972 and Indian Penal Code on October 27 this year. The then Minister Mr Singh, forest secretary Hemchand Sirohi, then water resources commissioner V Jaishankar, and former development commissioner G S Kang were made accused in the case UNI XC ANJ KK DB2202
