Former hostel warden arrested for burning students' belongings
Surat, Dec 19 (UNI) A former warden of the Vishva Hindu Parishad-run Ekalavya school hostel in Sonarpada village at Sonagadh was arrested by the local Crime Branch on Sunday evening, Sonagadh police informed here today.
According to police, on Saturday morning, some unidentified people entered the VHP-run school hostel and burnt clothes and books of the inmates of the hostel. On the same day, Kailash Varvi, the administrative chief of the school hostel filed a complaint with Sonagadh police.
After finding Ashok Chaudhuri, who had been dismissed from the hostel warden's post some months ago, responsible for the incident, police arrested him.
Chaudhuri reportedly confessed to police that he destroyed the students' belongings to take revenge on Kailash Varvi, who dismissed him from the post.
