Eforts on to develop vehicles that run on alternate fuels
New Delhi, Dec 19 (UNI) The National Hydrogen Development Board (NHDB) and private industry in India are taking initiatives to develop vehicles run on ethnol, bio-diesel, hydrogen, fuel cell and electricity, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Kanti Singh said today.
She told the Rajya Sabha, in a written reply that world over, companies were working on different options for alternative fuel and Japan and other leading car manufacturing countries were working not only in area of hybrid cars but also in bio-diesel, hydrogen and other alternative fuel driving vehicles.
''In India, various initiatives are being taken, both by the government and industry, for development of vehicles on ethanol, bio-diesel, hydrogen, fuel cell etc,'' she said.
