Port Blair, Dec 19: The Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission&Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy (GoI, NGRI) Dr Anil Kakodhar will visit Barren Island, India's last active volcano tomorrow.
Dr Kakodhar, who had arrived Port Blair yesterday, will visit Barren's NGRI work sites on subduction related volcanic activity.

Andaman and Nicobar islands are home for two volcanic islands named Barren and Narcodum. Barren, India's last active volcano is presently spewing lava (occasionally) and gasses while Narcondum volcano is considered dormant by experts.
Barren volcano, which erupted in May last year as an aftermath of December 2004 mega quake had spewed tones of magma in the sea and heavy smokes, which could be seen even by satellites.
