Conversion: Tension near Hubli

Hubli, Dec 19 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Revadihal village on the outskirts of the city after a team of missionaries allegedly attacked villagers, who pelted stones at them.

The trouble started when some missionaries came in a vehicle and started distributing sweets as part of their 'Dharmaprachar', leading to suspicion that they were persuading the people to embrace Christianity.

People started gathering around the missionaries and in the ensuing clash between the villagers and the missionaries, the latter's vehicle was damaged.

Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
