Blast at ex-defence personnel's house, owner arrested

Guwahati, Dec 19 (UNI) A bomb, kept at the residence of an ex-defence personnel in Beltola area of the city, went off accidentally in the early hours today.

Nobody was hurt in the blast. Four persons, including one Sahidul Rahman, the ex-serviceman, and the landlord were arrested.

The blast occurred at about 0330 hours, when the bomb, kept at the house with suspected malicious intention, went off accidentally.

Earlier in a neighbouring area last evening, two persons were injured in a blast.

Eyewitnesses said the blast occurred at about 1930 hours, though police is yet to confirm it.
