Appointments on compassionate grounds now simpler in MP
Bhopal, Dec 19 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government today allowed the simplication of the procedure for appointments on compassionate grounds and also Rs 1 lakh as gratuity for such dependents.
''If the dependent is ineligible for even a class four-level appointment, Rs 1 lakh will be paid and the case will be considered as closed,'' Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra said while providing information about a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
A provision was introduced whereby, in a situation where posts were unavailable, the head of the department could request his counterparts to accommodate the dependents.
''District collectors will be able to effect contractual school teachers' appointments within a month. The condition that total income from all sources should not exceed Rs 35,000, has been dispensed with,'' the minister added.
If an appointment is impossible as a contractual school teacher, the deceased employee's last salary amount would be paid every month to the family for a period of five years or until the date of retirement, whichever was less.
''Dependents of employees missing for more than seven years will also be considered provided first information reports were filed,'' Mr Mishra added.
Allowances of state government employees posted in Delhi were enhanced from Rs 100 to Rs 800. Doctors who were appointed on contract but have completed two years of service were regularised, the number of health department directors was doubled to four, 756 posts of students' hostel superintendents in tribal blocks would be revived and appointments made on contract.
''School teachers who were to retire in November have been granted extensions till April 30, 2007 -- the end of this academic session,'' the minister added.
