51 oppn members including Chandrabau Naidu suspended
Hyderabad, Dec 19 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu and 50 other members of TDP, TRS, CPI(M) and BJP were suspended for the Question Hour today for disrupting the proceedings demanding the resignation and prosecution of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on the assigned lands issue.
Marshals had to be summoned to remove some members, who refused to leave the House despite the suspension.
Soon after the House met for the day, TDP, TRS and CPI(M) members insisted discussion on their adjournment motions and the resignation of Reddy for retaining the assigned lands in his possession for two-and-a-half years after becoming the Chief Minister.
Repeated requests by Speaker K R Suresh Reddy to allow the Question Hour to proceed fell on the deaf ears on the opposition members, who came to the House with placards and trooped to the well demanding Dr Reddy's resignation.
The Speaker told the opposition members that the first hour of the House proceedings was meant for Question Hour and it could not be disrupted.
He said discussion on the implementation of the 610 GO, which stipulated repatriation of employees from areas other than the Telangana region, was listed after the Question Hour.
