23 units put to seal by MCD

New Delhi, Dec 19 (UNI) Offices of the Bharti Airtel and a unit housing an India crafts emporium were sealed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi today as part of its sealing drive which saw 23 commercial units being put to seal.

Some major properties sealed under today's drive, during which sealing action was carried out at Mehrauli Road, Aurbindo Marg and Anuvrat Marg in South zone, included Qutub Colonnade, Bharti Airtel Ltd., India Cottage Industries and India Crafts Emporium, an MCD spokesperson said.

With today's sealing, the total number of units sealed by the MCD since the resumption of the drive on november on the orders of the Supreme Court has risen to 3395.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of All India Traders today demanded the Union Government to refrain DDA from celebrating its Golden Jublie Celebrations beginning December 27 as it had failed to address basic issues of Delhi citizens.

''Therefore spending huge amount on Golden Jubilee Celebrations has no meaning and shall prove to be a mockery,''the CAIT said in a statement.
