Winter session of Jharkhand assembly began today

Ranchi, Dec 18 (UNI) The five-day winter session of Jharkhand Assembly was adjourned today after opening for the brief winter session.

Speaker Alamgir Alam announced the names of Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, Annapurna Devi, P N Singh, Sushila Hansda and Radhakrishna Kishore as presiding officers for the current session.

The Business Advisory Committee was also constituted by the speaker.

Mr Alam, in his welcome speech, urged cooperation from both opposition and treasury bench for smmoth running of the house.

Obituary referrences were made to former Chief Minister of Bihar Satyendra Narayan Singh, BSP leader Kanshi Ram, Hairpad Singh, Neelambar Choudhary, Mubarak Hussain and Kafil Ahmad Kaifi on the first day of winter session.

The members also observed a one-minute silence in memory of people killed in the serial balsts in Malegaon of Maharashtra, in Bhagalpur train tragedy , jawans killed in land mine blast in Bokaro and people killed in Nagda mines mishap.
