Tata Indicom launches 'India Calling Cards'
New Delhi, Dec 18: Tata Teleservices Ltd today introduced 'India Calling Cards' for its mobile and Walky customers, which will facilitate easy STD and ISD calls irrespective of any long distance call facility activated on the connection.
These calling cards operate by dialing the access number along with a distinctive PIN number, which serves as a numeric code given to every calling card.
''The step has been undertaken keeping in mind the requirements of our customers who are frequent ISD and STD users or make expensive long distance calls. Customers can make calls at their convenience and do not necessarily have to subscribe to the long distance call facility involving additional costs, on their connections,'' company's COO (Delhi and NCR) Debashis Sur said.
The solution also provides commuters affordable long distance calling facility even on roaming, he added.
The unique features of the Tata Indicom Calling Card are its speed dialing and PINless dialing features. With this, the customer needs to remember only the last 4 digits of the PIN and need not dial the 12-digit code every time while making a call. The speed-dialing feature gives customer the option of having easy access to the three frequently dialed numbers.
These cards are available at all Tata Indicom outlets and also online with the help of net banking within an affordable price range starting from Rs 100 onwards along with a validity period of three months from the date of activation.
In addition, there is no security deposit required to avail the ISD and STD facility available on the card. While the calling cards facilitate STD calls at Rs 2 per minute, all US/UK/Canada calls will be charged at Rs 4.50 per minute and calls made to Gulf will cost Rs 7.20 per minute.
