Stolen infant restored to mother within hours

Puducherry,Dec 18(UNI) Police recovered an eight-day old stolen baby and handed her over to her parents within hours of the crime.

Senior superintendent of Police Chaya Sharma told newspersons here that the infant delivered by a woman from Villuppuram was stolen by one Jaya of Puducherry from JIPMER hospital today.

Govindammal lodged a complaint with the police, who then apprehended Jaya at the new bus stand and arrested her.

The stolen infant was restored to the parents.
