Seven hurt as dacoits loot passengers of Janata Express

Aligarh, Dec 18 (UNI) At least seven persons were injured when armed dacoits looted passengers in the general compartment of Delhi-Howrah Janata Express last night.

Police said here that soon after the train left Aligarh station past midnight, five armed miscreants entered the general compartment and started snatching belongings of passengers at gun point.

Those who protested were manhandled and stabbed with sharp-edged weapons. The looting spree continued for over 20 minutes after which the dacoits jumped off when the train slowed down.

The injured were admitted to hospital after the train reached Hathras.
