Saurashtra 70/0 after TN declare 500/8

Rajkot, Dec 18 (UNI) Saurashtra scored 70 without loss in their first innings in reply to Tamil Nadu's mammoth 500/8 declared in super league Ranji match on the second day of the four-day match at the Madhavrao Scindia ground here today.

At stumps, Kanaiya Vaghela and Sagar Jogiyani were batting with 21 (3X4) and 44 (8x4) runs respectively.

The vistiors started their Ist innings at the overnight score of 293/3, and declared the innings at 500/8 wickets, shortly before tea break. S Sarath who scored century in his 100th Ranji match and was not out on 103 yesterday, was first to go after adding six runs to his over night socre. K Vaghela took his wicket.

R Satish who was unbeaten on 51, yesterday, missed the coveted mark by just seven runs and was out on 93 when he was caught by P Mehta off K Vaghela. He played some of his charaterstic shots, lovely cover, straight drives to compound the misereis of the bowlers. His innings studded with 14 boundaries and one six.

K Shri Vasdevadas and R Naresh put on 114 runs for the sixth wicket before latter was out for 64 in which he clouted six fours and two sixes while facing 95 balls.

An elegant innings of K Shri Vasudevadas (80) came to an end when he was caught at slip by S Kotak off K Makwana. His innings contained nine fours while facing 140 balls.

TN's captain R Satish declared the innings at the score of 500 for 8 with a view to scalp couple of hosts wicket but did not succeed.
