Sales Tax scam busted in Delhi
New Delhi, Dec 18 (UNI) With the arrest of two brothers, police has busted a racket of cheats who prepared bogus bank documents and claimed sales tax rebate, causing the state exchequer loss of Rs 4.3 crore.
Jagdish Prasad (72) and Shyam Sunder (60), oil traders, were arrested by the sleuthes of the Anti Fraud and Cheating Section of the Economic offences Wing on Saturday.
Police said the firm, Jagdish Oil Traders, owned jointly by the both the accused, had used bogus bank challans to evaded sales tax.
They were produced in the court and sent into police custody.
Further investigation is in progress.
