Punjab BJP chief on Indo-Pak Parliamentary panel

Chandigarh, Dec 18 (UNI) Punjab BJP President Avinash Rai Khanna has been nominated member of the India-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group by the Lok Sabha Speaker.

The aim of the formation of this friendship group is to maintain political, economic, social and cultural contacts between the two countries and to create favourable conditions for continuous development of inter-Parliamentary contacts, especially in the organisation of talks, mutual exchanges and cooperation between the two Parliaments.

This India-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group will assist in having exchanges of informationa nd experiences on issues related to Parliamentary activities and to promote cooperation between the delegations of the two countries while participating inthe deliberations of international organisation and also in carrying our consultation on issues of mutual interest, as an when such opportunity arises. This group will certainly help in increasing ties betwen two countries.
