Priest sexually exploits tribal

Patthalgaon, Dec 18 (UNI) A 17-year-old tribal today lodged a police complaint alleging that she was sexually exploited over a period of time by a priest at the Catholic Ashram in Ludeg village of Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district.

''A case was registered against Anima Prakash Minj under Section 376 of the Criminal Procedure Code. He is absconding. In October, the Chidrapara village-resident victim approached the Ashram seeking employment. Minj assured her a job, detained the tribal at the Ashram and sexually exploited her,'' said Town Inspector Praveen Chandra Rai.

The victim alleged that on later occasions, the priest sent Ashram employees to summon her and the exploitation continued. When she informed him of her pregnancy, Minj beat her up and drove her away.
