Leopard kills 12-year-old girl

Dehra Dun, Dec 18 (UNI) A minor girl was killed by a leopard at village Nagad under Chaubattakhal tehsil in Pauri district of Uttaranchal.

According to the Tehsildar, Kantilal Arya Minakshi (12), daughter of Dhyan Singh, had taken cattle to graze with other women of the village to a nearby field when at around 1100 hrs, yesterday, a leopard suddenly attacked her and started dragging her off.

The women, in a bid to save her, started shouting and throwing stones at the leopard.

However, the animal killed her before escaping.

Meenakshi is the third victim of a leopard attack within a week in different tehsils of Pauri district.
