Kannada Sahitya Sammelan in Shimoga from Dec 20

Bangalore, Dec 18 (UNI) A three-day All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, along with various literary and cultural programmes, will be held in Shimoga in Karnataka from December 20.

Kannada Sahitya Parishad President Chandrashekar Patil told reporters here today that over 450 literary persons would be taking part in the annual conference.

Kannada poet K S Nissar Ahmed would preside over the 73rd sammelan and deliver his presidential address on December 21, he said.

At least 73 books on Kannada literature would be released on the occasion, he said, adding that more than 25,000 people were expected to attend the programme.
