Jharkhand Take Vital Lead in First Innings vs Services
Jamshedpur, Dec 18 (UNI) Valuable unbeaten 67 runs by Sumit Panda helped Jharkhand take vital first innings' 36 runs lead as the hosts posted 252/7 against Services on the second day of the four-day Ranji trophy plate Group B match at Keenan stadium here today.
At stump Mihir Diwakar remained unbeaten on 30 with the help of three fours with Panda.
Jharkhand resumed at overnight 15 for no loss but the top order failed before some fine spin bowling of all rounder and first innings centurian Yashpal Singh, who captured four wickets for 37 runs while left arm spinner Arun Sharma bagged two for 83, A K Mohanty took the other wicket.
Panda hit six fours and one huge six in his unfinished knock. He was assisted by Santosh Lal, who also scored a fine 54 with the help of ten hit to the fence and became the victim of Sharma.
Brief score: Services (1st innings) 216 all out ( Y Singh 103, S Khan 21/4).
