IRCON Bags Export Award From PEPC
New Delhi, Dec 18 (UNI) IRCON International Limited (IRCON), a public sector undertaking of the Railway Ministry, has won an export award from Project Exports Promotion Council of India (PEPC).
The award is in the category of ''Maximum Foreign Exchange Earned and Repatriated to India from Overseas Construction and Engineering Projects'' during 2005-06.
The award was presented by Mr P.C.Chaturvedi, Member Administration, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on the occasion of the 22nd AGM of PEPC, held here recently.
IRCON has so far received 43 awards in the last 20 years since 1984-85 from PEPC (formerly known as Overseas Construction Council of India - OCCI).
The company has registered an all-time high turnover of Rs 11128 million and a profit before tax of Rs 1109 million during 2005-06.
IRCON has completed three road projects during 2005-06 -- two in Bangladesh and one in Indonesia. In addition, it has executed nine projects in India, including the prestigious work for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
