Haryana to develop three industrial clusters

Chandigarh, Dec 18 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to develop three industrial clusters at Panipat, Gurgaon and Faridabad for textile, autoparts and light engineering equipments respectively.

Besides, a bio-technology park would also be set up at Manesar, Industries and Commerce Minister Lachhman Das Arora said today.

He said the state government had been able to attract Direct Foreign Investment (FDI) of Rs 1,380 crore after the implementation of new Industrial Policy in June, 2005 giving statutory rights to investors for time bound clearance of their projects.

The state government had already fixed a target to attract investment worth Rs two lakh crore, offering employment opportunities to ten lakh aspirants, he added.

Mr Arora said the exports from the state surpassed the bench-mark of Rs 25,000 crore with IT sector's share of Rs 10,7000. Haryana counts for ten per cent of its share in total IT sector export of the country.

The minister said as many as 29 large and medium scale industrial units and 1,756 small scale industrial units had so far been set in the state during the tenure of present government which gave employment to 16,780 persons.

Besides, Industrial Entrepreneur Memoranda to set up 378 industrial units had been received, inviting an investment of Rs 5,896 crore. These would provide job opportunities to 74,853 persons.
