Five die in road accident

Korba, Chhattisgarh, Dec 18 (UNI) Five people died and 18 were injured when their tractor trolley lost control and overturned at Krobi, about 90 km from district headquarters, police said today.

The tractor trolley, carrying 23 passengers, belonging to Majhabahra village, was heading to Korbi market when the incident occurred yesterday. The villagers were going to sell their vegetables in the market.

Kandam Kunwar (40), Dhanmatia (35), Jait Kunwar (30) and Kumari Mahesh Kunwar (10) were killed on the spot, while Shivlal (60) died while undergoing treatment at Korba primary healthcare centre.

On receiving information, passersby and Korbi villagers provided assistance to injured and got them admitted to the primary healthcare centre. The injured were admitted to the district hospital late in the night.

Tractor driver Gurudyal Singh was absconding.
