Dreaded criminal killed in encounter

Lucknow, Dec 18: A dreaded criminal Naresh Dhimar was shot dead in a police encounter under Amritpur police station in Farrukhabad district late last night, police said today.

Police said Naresh, who carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, was involved in several cases of murder, looting, kidnapping and other crimes in the area.

However, during the encounter, an accomplice of Dhimar managed to escape.

Some country made firearms and huge quantity of cartridges were recovered from his possession, police said.
