Chill continues to haunt UP; 36 dead
Lucknow, Dec 18 (UNI) The chill factor in Uttar Pradesh continued following snowfall in the upper reaches of neighbouring Uttrakhand.
At least 36 persons have so far died of the prevailing weather conditions in the state with two more deaths reported from Sant Kabir Nagar in the past 24 hours.
So far 10 people have died of cold in Mahoba, four in Bareilly, three in Hardoi, two each in Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddharthnagar, Moradabad, Lucknow, Badaun and Hamirpur and one each in Basti, Lalitpur, Bhadoi, Sultanpur and Bijnore.
Allahabad recorded the lowest temprature in the state where mercury stood at 7.3 degrees celcsus. The Weatherman said today that while the temperature would continue to plummet, a general dryness would prevail in the atmosphere.
