AIADMK functionary held

Chennai, Dec 18 (UNI) City police have arrested AIADMK headquarters propaganda Speaker Kalaiselvan for allegedly making disparaging remarks against DMK Stalwart and former Union Minister Murasoli Maran and his family members at a public meeting here recently.

Police said Kalaiselvan of Sivakasi also criticised the installation of Mr Maran's statue inside parliament.

A special police party arrested him at his residence in Sivakasi last night and brought him to the city this morning.

He was later remanded to judicial custoday, police said.
