UN delegation meets AP CM
Hyderabad, Dec 17 (UNI) A four-member team led by Dr Ms Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka, Under Secretary General and Executive Director, United Nations Human Settlements Programme today called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at the Secretariat.
Dr Anna complimented the Chief Minister for his developmental programme in the state and especially for his keenness in empowerment of women like sanctioning houses in the name of women.
Explaining to the team on the 'shelter for all' programme taken up by the state government under 'INDIRAMMA' programme, Dr Reddy said the government had taken up this programme to develop model villges and model municipalities in the State to provide shelter to the poor and vulnerable groups in three years.
The delegation would visit Puttaparthy to study the Sri Satya Sai rural water scheme taken up in Anantapur district tomorrow, an official release said here.
