Two narcotic smugglers get 10 years imprisonment

Moga, Dec 17 (UNI) A local court convicted and sentenced two poppy husk smugglers--Nirmal Singh of Moga and Teja Singh of Khosa Randhir village to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs one lakh each.

In case of default in paying the fine, both wil undergo another years imprisonment.

The judgement was handed out by additional seessions judge B S Sandhu here yesterday The two were nabbed by the police in November 2004 with 15 bags of poppy husk weighing about 5.25 quintals.

A case under NDPS Act was registered against the two at the Mehna police station.
