TN govt to recruit teachers through offices
Tiruchirapalli, Dec 17: Tamil Nadu government would recruit over 7,500 Under-Graduate (UG) teachers through the District Employment exchanges to fill up the existing vacancies, State Minister for School Education Thangam Thennarasu said.
Talking to newspersons here yesterday he said as part of their recruitment drive to fill up the vacancies, over 3,555 UG teachers and 650 Post-Graduate (PG) teachers were recruited through the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), after the DMK government had resumed office.
He said the government was making a comprehensive study of the emerging number of teachers' vacancies throughout the state in view of retirements, after April next year. Based on the requirements the government would fill up the vacancies as early as possible.
He claimed that the government was implementing various schemes for the welfare of the teachers, students and parents. The government had directed the educational department officials to ensure a friendly atmosphere in schools and to look into the requirements of the students, and other basic infrastructure facilities, like the requisite school buildings, toilet facilities etc.
The Minister said the 'Special Complaint Cells' set up by the Eeducation Department to look into the complaints of the students had received over 450 complaints so far, throughout the state, of which 70 per cent had been attended. The educational department officials had been asked by the government to look into the students complaints immediately.
