TDP demands EC action against AP CM

Hyderabad, Dec 17 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu today demanded that the Election Commission take action against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for false declaration of assets before the 2004 assembly elections.

In a letter to the Election Commission, Mr Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the Chief Minister in his affidavit in assembly elections for Pulivendula Assembly constituency in 2004 had suppressed deliberately that he was possessing the estate in Idupulapaya in Kadapa district.

Dr Reddy had committed an election offence by misleading the ECI, he added.

He demanded that the District Collector of Kadapa, Chief Conservator of Forests and the Chief Secretary and ministers concerned to take appropriate action by surveying the total lands possesd by the Chief Minister and his family members in the name of his estate for more than 30 years and ascertain the extent of various lands including forest, temple, panchayat lands under his occuption.

He said the alleged violation of Land Reforms Act by the Chief Minister would be brought to the notice of the President, Prime Minister, State Governor and Chief Vigilance Commissioner of India and the CBI Director for appropriate action.
