Smuggler dies in accident

Krishnagar, Dec 17 (UNI) A cattle lifter was today killed and four others were seriously injured when a vehicle rpt vehicle in which they were carrying six buffaloes to Bangladesh turned on a side at Karimpur market in Nadia district, police said.

The deceased, a resident of Murshidabad district identifed as Samjan Shaikh (37), and four injured were members of a gang involved in smuggling and cattle lifting in the border areas.

The injured were rushed to local hospital where condition of one was stated to be crictial with head injuries.

The six animals were seized by the police.
