Services 216 all out on day one vs Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Dec 17 (UNI) A fine 103 by Yashpal Singh and a well compiled half-century (57) by A K Mohanty helped Services score 216 all out in the first innings against Jharkhand on the opening day of their Ranji Trophy plate group B match at Keenan stadium here today.

In reply Jharkhand scored 15 for no loss when the stumps were drawn. Opener Manish Vardhan and night watchman S.Nadeem were batting on 2 and 11 respectively.

Services won the toss and decided to bat on a pitch that helped the spinners. Except Singh and Mohanty other batsmen faltered.

Singh's ton comprised of twelve hit to the fence while Mohanty's innings studded with six fours.

Leftarm spinner Shahid Khan was the most successful bowler picking up four scalps off 41 runs while offie Sunny Gupta also bagged three wickets off 41 runs and another leggie S Nadeem got two wickets.
