NCP sets up six member panel to discuss seat sharing with Cong
Mumbai, Dec 17 (UNI) The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has set up a six member panel of senior party leaders to discuss seat sharing with Congress for the February 1 Mumbai Municipal elections.
NCP spokesman Hemraj Shah said the panel members are Civil Aviation minister Praful Patel, Maharashtra Public Works Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Finance Minister Jayant Patil, NCP city unit president Sachin Ahir and NCP leader in the civic house Ravindra Pawar.
The six leaders have been authorised to hold talks with the Congress to fight the coming elections together in order to prevent division of votes, he said.
NCP has 11 corporators in the present 227 member civic house. A meeting of the party's manifesto committee met here today to discuss different aspects of the party's stand on various issues facing the city.
