Mukherjee welcomes Interim Constitution of Nepal
Kathmandu, Dec 17 (UNI) Visiting External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has welcomed the signing of the interim constitution of Nepal by seven parties' alliance government and the Maoists.
During the meeting with deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs KP Sharma Oli, Mr Mukherjee said India welcomed the ongoing peace process of Nepal and the interim constitution signed by the government and the Maoists.'' Mr Mukherjee is on a brief official visit of Nepal to hand over the invitation to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on behalf of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to attend the 14th SAARC Summit to be held in New Delhi in April next year.
Mr Mukherjee handed over the letter to Mr Koirala at his official residence in Baluwatar earlier today.
India is ready to assist Nepal in the ongoing peace process, Mr Mukherjee said.
Mr Koirala appreciated the Indian cooperation in Nepal's peace process, said an official present during the meeting.
