Mandeep's ton steers Punjab to 399
Patiala, Dec 17 (UNI) On the second day of the Polly Umrigar Trophy (Under-15), Punjab has piled up a massive score of 399 for eight in 150 overs against Delhi in the final here at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.
Overnight 105 for 2, Punjab skipper Mandeep Singh, who was 19 not out yesterday, mauled the Delhi flimsy bowling attack and scored a masterly 165, which contained 23 fours in 276 balls was run out.
Shahnawaz scored 32 in style to contribute to Punjab's big total.
For Delhi, Manoj Chauhan captured 3 wickets, giving away 113 runs and Vikas Misra also took equal number of wickets, conceding 95 runs. At close of play, Pankaj Choudhary was unbeaten on 45 and Bhavish Goyal was 3 not out.
Delhi were all out for 119 yesterday and have gifted the match to Punjab on a platter. The final day's play tomorrow will only be of academic interest when Punjab resume their innings.
