DGP lays foundation stone for 'Balamitra police stn'

Vijayawada, Dec 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Swaranjit Sen today laid the foundation stone for a permanent child-friendly 'Balamitra' police station here.

Earlier Mr Sen inaugurated a temporary errected Balamitra police station.

The station would be constructed with all equipped indoor games, a sand pit, spacious hall, jungle gym, swing and slide, and other play equipments were aimed at making children comfortable in the police station precincts.

Mr Sen said the move would also pave the way for better relations between children and the police and remove bad precedent on the police system.

More 'Balamitra police stations would be set up across the state soon, he said and added two were already in Kavali and Visakhapatnam.

Every 'Balamitra' police station would consist a instructor, doctor and lawyer for educating the children in various fields and solve their problems.
