Dacoity gang struck at two places and escapes with booty

Hubli, Dec 17 (UNI) A Ten-member dacoity gang struck at two places in Bagalkot district, attacked the inmates of the houses and decamped with booty in the early hours of today.

Police said that the armed gang first struck at a house belonging to Mr Gonappa Pujari in Kabbalageri village and assaulted the inmates and looted Rs 30,000 cash and ornaments in all worth Rs 58,000. The same gang later struck at a farm house near a sugar factory in Badami taluk and looted ornaments and cash Rs 34,000.

The dacoits were conversing in Kannada with a Bijapur accent and had covered their faces with black cloth. They were in the age group of 25 to 30 years, police said adding that dog squad was pressed at both places failed to reveal any track of the dacoits.
