Complaint to CM against Uma's brother
Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Dec 17 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are among the political parties who have complained to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan against Bharatiya Jan Shakti Founder-President Uma Bharti's brother Amritlal Lodhi who is functioning as a nagar panchayat president despite being declared ineligible.
BJP MLA Kapoorchand Ghuwara, senior BJP leader Ashok Goyal, former MLA Ramratan Chaturvedi, Congress worker Shobha Devi and Samajwadi Party district President Mahesh Prasad Pateria said that the Madhya Pradesh gazette dated December 1 declared Mr Lodhi as ineligible.
The gazette said Mr Lodhi did not submit, in time, the details of electoral expense to the state election commission and the district administration. Following a recommendation by the district returning officer, Mr Lodhi was banned from contesting polls for five years.
''I submitted the details in time to the commission through my representative,'' he claimed.
''Thirty days is the time limit for submitting such details,'' said Additional Collector and Assistant Returning Officer R K Shrivastav.
