Chief Minister inspects new assembly complex
Dharamsala, Dec 17 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today paid a surprise visit to the upcoming Vidhan Sabha complex at Tapovan near Dharamsala and took stock of the progress of work.
The Chief Minister also held discussions with senior government officials monitoring the construction work.
He expressed his satisfaction and lauded the state engineers for carrying out the work with quality control.
Mr Singh said with the construction of the new Vidhan Sabha complex here, basic infrastructural facilities would be made available to hold the assembly sessions here in future as well.
He said history had been created when the Congress government held the Vidhan Sabha Session of the State Legislative Assembly outside the state capital last year, when the construction of a separate and independent Vidhan Sabha complex was announced and construction work was started, for which adequate funds were also made available.
The upcoming complex would be a monument of the model architecture and would add to the beauty of the area, he observed.
He said a team of senior engineers had been deployed to monitor the pace of construction to get the same ready, well before the start of the Winter Session.
