Catfish sealed in AP village

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 17 (UNI) Revenue and Fisheries officials seized two tonnes of catfish from a lorry at Kovvali village in Dendukuru mandal near here last night.

According to officials here today, Eluru Revenue Divisional Officer(RDO) T Venugopala Reddy along with fishries officials intercepted the lorry and seized the catfish.

The catfish was banned by the Central Government in view of the danger posed to the indegenous fish.

The revenue officials later burnt all catfish seized.officials.
